The Transparent - Pistol Chair is a successor to the Pistol Chair and is the result of the assignment given by C&M Praktijk during my second year of interior design studies in Brussels. Like its predecessor, it has been designed with its environment in mind. The T-P.C. was created in the bustling and stimulating center of Europe, Brussels. It has been designed to minimize unpleasant sensory stimuli and offers maximum comfort and seating quality.
Drawing inspiration from Maarten Van Severen's Low chairs and my own P.C., I aimed to create a light and refreshing variation of the mid-century lounge chair. The T-P.C. was designed with attention to the sensitive mind and respect for contemporary interior design . This chair seamlessly blends into your interior while subtly adding a cozy atmosphere. At first glance, it almost seems invisible, not immediately catching your eye. The wood, elegantly supported by transparent plexiglass, becomes more captivating as you approach. The closer you get, the more details it reveals. Ultimately, it invites you to take a seat, rewarding you with an exceptionally comfortable seating experience. Ideal for relaxing, reading a book, or simply enjoying a cup of tea or coffee. A chair crafted to be your haven, allowing you to recharge and face the world anew.
P.S.
This is a handmade prototype with visual imperfections that occur when bending plexiglass by hand. As a young designer and student, I couldn't invest in injection molding. Until I secure the right funding, these photos illustrate what I'm trying to achieve. :)
